I'm a huge LPB fan. I'm getting my '78 jazz refinished (it was already refinished by a former owner years ago and I hate the color that's on it now - a nasty maroon). Anyway, I was thinking of getting her finish in LPB. Only thing is that she has a maple board with a white binding and pearl blocks. Think that combo would look good with LPB? I've never seen that before. You guys tell me...

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes...that's possibly the best combination ever to be put on an instrument, Fred.

Edit: With a white pearl pickguard, of course.

Before and after: Fender ARI '70s jazz bass

Had the body arrived with holes drilled for the pickup and bridge covers, they would be on the bass.

Some great looking basses in this thread so far :).

Here's my contribution. It's a Fender Custom Shop '61 NOS P Bass. Difficult to capture the true colour on film, but it's closer to the last picture than the first couple :hmm: ...

Here's what LPB should really look like, BTW :smug:.

:smug: As well as being one heck of a bass, thats also a really accurate representation of how I expect LPB to look. I have to admit that my Fender is just a little bit paler than I'd like it to be :(, although in certain lighting conditions it can look nearly as dark as your AC.
