Let's see your Bass Rig

Hi. Third post, and I figured this was a good thread for an introduction. My name’s Mike. I started playing when I was 12. I stopped when I was 22. Held onto my bass, but became a listener for 20 years.

Found a five string two years ago in my pawn shop and decided she was coming home with me. Bought a Rumble 25 and my roommate put a drum set together. Immediately, he was too loud unless he used brushes so I dug up an amp and cab. That was last November.

I had a new amp shortly after. New cab by spring.

I scored the final cab last month. Finished my pedalboard too. I’m done at this point (that includes basses). Nothing to do now but write songs.

I owe you guys a lot of thanks. I’ve been reading here since I got back on the horse, and this place had most of the answers I needed. So, thank you. And hello!
Nice

How do you like your Black Cat?
Best wishes,

My complete rig...New and Old put together. ( Can only run 3 Cabs at a time) 215 and 112 is the best setup. But really run the 215 by its self most of the time.

It’s wild. Stacks great with the Pharaoh and the MXR. Utterly ferocious. If I had to choose one dirt pedal, that would be the one.

It has come down with a strange tendency to not switch on when it feels like it. Light comes on, but no signal passing though. Turn it on and off a few time and it gets the hint. Black Cat doesn’t answer emails, so I live with it. No gigs to speak of, though we did just find a guitarist and it would be nice if it worked reliably.

That was my feeling as well. :) I've had a couple of them. Subtle it's not. ;)
I'm a big fan of Glenn Hughes and he has used it for years with great success!
Best wishes,

That's an awesome little rig there! I was enjoying playing my 800+ into my Flex 110 last night. Mesa and MAS play very well together.

I had a fill-in last night at a local brewery with a three piece, drums and electric/acoustic guitar. I am still shocked at the amount of clean low end this little cab produces. And like you said, the combo of the Mesa with the MAS, is really a stellar match!

I enjoyed having my tweet-equipped 18 as part of my living room rig for a while, but moved it to my church for use as a keyboard monitor. It blows the old Peavey wedge we were using out of the water. The amount and quality of the low end that the 18 brings is mind-boggling.

Oh yeah! A few years ago, I bought an E-140 from JohnK10 and mounted it in a custom built tone-ring cab and was pleased and amazed at the full range punch that thing had. According to John, it's the most efficient bass speaker ever built. I didn't have an all-tube amp at the time, but it sounded great with a black-face Walkabout.
