Let's spread some musical misinformation

Overdrive pedals contain a small bear and a microphone. When you step on the switch to 'activate' the pedal it drives a small spike into the bear's flesh causing the bear to growl into the microphone resulting in the 'overdrive' sound heard from your amplifier. The 'gain' and 'drive' knobs are generally attached to the bear's nipples resulting in different levels of growl or roar when they are turned clockwise and counter-clockwise
Fuzz pedals, on the other hand, utilise Africanised bees which are gently compressed when the pedal is activated via the footswitch.
