Let's spread some musical misinformation

Fact: in 2017 Fender will stop making P's since someone assumed J's can probably be made to sound the same.

Rumor 1: in the future Fender will also discontinue the J line as they want to let the existing J's and P's skyrocket in value.

Rumor 2: They will have an end of production model for both the P and J series. Prices are reported to start at $ 2495 USD and go up from there. Pre-orders will begin Summer '16.

Rumor 3: this has more to do with the expected implosion of Guitar Center and presumably other big music sellers in the next 24 months.

Rumor 4: this is planned due to expected tensions with manufacturing in Mexico and China.

Yep...the writing was on the wall when Squier bought Fender...

Fender has a secret vault that holds the A Bass through I Bass as well as the K Bass through O Bass.
These are kept locked under the strictest security as if they are ever hooked up at the same time they would set off massive earthquakes & destroy half of California.

Nobody knows what became of the Q Bass through Z bass--although it is rumoured that Billy Gibbons has them ina secret vault.
They pose no danger though.

I have the Z bass. I got it from Dusty Hill for a bar bill I covered for him in 1972. He got it from Billy Gibbons in a poker game.

Squier unveiled a new 4-string active bass today. It's called the Squier "Ibanez'.

Plans are in the works for a Squier "Sadowsky" and a Squier "Epiphone" as well....

The Squier "Rickenbacker" will be released in October and is a limited run of 500 units.
All 500 basses released in October will be seized and used as evidence in a copywrite infringement case.

Exactly. All 500 basses will be seized as evidence for use at the trial, and then ordered destroyed by the judge. But one will be mysteriously saved and no-one will know where it went.

This will make it the rarest collectible bass on the planet and there will be thousands of internet threads about it, mostly here on TalkBass.

The exposure that Squier gets from all this will propel them to the number one bass-maker worldwide.

Don't think that Squier hasn't thought this through.....

Once the court case is over a P/J model called the Squier "Lawsuit" will be available...as well as a new shortscale called the "Tort".

Seasoned bass players know that 4.25/4.25 time is much better than 4/4 time.

They know that any fractionated time signature is superior.

3.33/4.25, 5.125/4.25 , 6.75/8.125, will all make people turn their heads.....

Everyone knows that when you play with terrifically accomplished drummers with big big drums sets, you always are required to count "One And" to be correctly positioned on The One due to the tremendous amount of skin covered by the drummer's fill in the previous measure.
