Licorice!

If you like ouzo try raki. It's similar and delicious and extremely potent. I believe it's the Turkish equivalent of ouzo so maybe don't ask for it at a Greek place, but I highly recommend it if you can find a bottle. Most liquor stores by me have it.

It is indeed Turkish. Had a run in with it in Turkey years ago and it's not called the lion's milk for nothing. Let me tell you, the bathrooms on Turkish ferries are not for the viciously hungover or the faint of heart. At least they weren't in the very early 90s.

As for licorice? No. Just no.

I honestly would not spend a lot of money on this. If its salmiakki from Finland, get the smallest package you can find.

Why not? I dig me some salty licorice. I already like the Dutch take on licorice. I like chocolate from Finland and other Scandinavia items. Seems like a winner to me, or has the potential to be.
