I recently bought a Realist Lifeline for my DB, but didn't like how it sounded on my DB. I planned to send it back to Thomann, but then thought about the piezo problems I had with my EUB. I have a NS WAV4 of which the treble side piezo broke some time ago. I replaced the pickup with a piezo meant for acoustic (bass)guitars that I had laying around. It worked well enough but needed a lot of EQ because it was way to trebly and had a low output. So: I installed the Lifeline in the WAV. It's sandwiched between the original block the bridge did rest on and an extra block of wood. At the treble side the gap between the two blocks is seperated by two washers, on the bass side it's seperated by the Lifeline.
In the picture the lifeline is a but further towards the middle. after some experimenting I ended up straight under the bass side bridge foot.
The sound is excellent. Still a bit dark to my taste, but probably not for most. The way I installed it I don't have any volume or tone control ont he bass. Maybe later I'll reïnstall the little FDeck buffering pre I had in it before. That way I'll have a use for the two pots.
This might be a bit of an expensive upgrade for a WAV, bit it works, sounds great, and I can always pull it out and use it somewhere else.
