I have Hartke 4.5xl cab. It's a bit heavy (and another 410 will come on top soon) so I was thinking about getting some wheels under it. Will it change my tone if I put it on wheels?

There's no such thing as mechanical coupling, it's a myth started by those trying to sell you something to fix what isn't broken. Lift the cab far enough, as in a couple of feet or more, and you lose midbass acoustical coupling. That can be helpful on a boomy stage.Getting a cab off the ground will un'couple' the cabinet from the floor
But if you look from physical side, lifting it on smaller surface should result in less cab vibrations hitting the floor, so you should loose low end in smaller rooms, but it shouldn't make much differences on larger stages or open ones. Am I right?
No.

Bill,
I dont question your technical knowledge you obviously know a lot more then I about speaker design, etc but I cannot deny that when I take my 410 off the ground and put it on casters, I hear a difference. Simply less boomy.
Just turn it on its side while playing it.
If you perceive it to be better on the floor, you could roll it in on an appliance dolly
and put it on the floor when you set up.
IMHO though, cabs always sound better to me with big rubber feet
or heavy duty casters with rubber wheels.
how would that help?
Appliance dolly - good idea, unless there are stairs. My 4x10 cab weighs in at 100 lbs. I've carried it up and down many flights. One gig was a third floor loft sans elevator so I carried it up and down 3 flights of stairs, in stilettos no less, and was glad to be able to roll it the rest of the way to the stage and back to the car's trunk respectively. There was no difference in sound with the casters, just a little more ease of mobility.
What would really be advantageous though, would be one of those grappling guns on Batman's utility belt.![]()
Now there's a bassist dedicated to her craft. And to think there's a bunch of men around here who whine about amps if they're not 5lbs. or less.![]()
