Any recommendations on a decent light weight amp with a 10" or 12" driver under 30 lbs.

It's 2 pounds over your limit, but the SWR Workingman's 10 is a good choice for an amp that's good quality but practice amp size.

I've tried a Marshall MB30 and it does what I want but I want an even lighter amp.

MB30=30 watts, 10" driver and 32 lbs.

This is a bit out of your weight range by 10 lbs, but the Carvin BR515N is 40 lbs and comes with the BX500 head (5.5 lbs) and a 15" neo driver. The head can be removed so that you can power other speaker enclosures if you'd like. Don't know how much more the 10 lbs would be an issue, but it's a great product. $619.
