Sadowsky has the new Satin Line with chambered bodies that are in the 7 pound area. I'm not sure if they make one with just a P pickup rather than a PJ configuration though.

1) What is the lightest bass with a split coil pickup?
OR
2) What is the lightest bass with a Precision bass body and/or neck?

My thought was the latter, but most of the suggestions are the rather.

I had a full size, mid 90's MIK, laminate body P that was a hair over 6 lbs,... and an early first year Hwy 1 P that was 7 lbs ... sub 8 lb Fender P's from various eras are not as uncommon over the years as people think ...

If you are so obsessed by instrument weight, maybe consider a different instrument, like the picolo.

My P is 7.02 pounds at present - if you have a precise enough scale, you'll find they;re a tiny bit lighter in the winter when things are dry than in the summer. I also have a single coil P-ish bass, that's 6.8 pounds:

Fender Road Worns can be fairly light, but I'm not sure if there are many below 7.2 lbs. My P is just around 8 lbs.

Recently got an MIM Precision, from CME... using bathroom scale (Tanita), it weighs in @ 8lbs... didn't flip flop, back and forth, between 8 and 8.5, either.

My MIM P is like 7 lbs flat if I remember correctly? If you keep an eye out you'll find light ones out there.
