View attachment 5209524 I would suggest a used Genz Benz 6.0 Shuttle combo (if you can find one). I have 2 and absolutely love them. About 32 lbs and 375 watts without an extension cabinet. 600 watts with extension cabinet.

This would have been my recommendation but you beat me to it. I've got the 6.2 with the 12t cab and it's such a great little amp. Older now, but punches way above it's weight in sound and features for the $$$(or £££ in your case), and you can find lots of support from other talkbass users here(looking at you Agedhorse).

AND Agedhorse has done factory updates and replaced components on both of mine this year ...I highly recommend that as well!!!!

Hi guys,
I normally play a large amp with big cab but finding it increasingly hard to carry at my age (62)!! So I've been looking at buying a small (100-300watt) combo amp that i can DI if needed and use my pedals through too. The internet is a nightmare with so many recommendations and combinations, the Fender 100 Rumble seems ok and I quite like the Mark bass but as I have recently joined Talk Bass I thought I would take the opportunity to ask the experts - you! I'm based in the UK and play mostly pubs and smaller clubs so any help would be much appreciated. Cheers
I have experience with Rumble V3 and Markbass 121p. Any of the Rumbles above 100 watts are very good all-around combos. I recommend getting the highest-powered one you can afford.

I totally DIS-recommend the Markbass 121 P. It's very midrange-centered and in my view sounds like garbage. The band asked me to bring another amp. And that was using TWO cabs.

Agree with the recommendation for thinking about the modular layout of a separate class-D head and portable cab. I certainly haven't used too many combos in my day, but I've never been too big on having everything in one box. That's just me.

I have two small heads - GK MB 500 and a Genz-Benz Shuttle 6.0 - that can both go into one backpack (easy to have a backup along for the ride). And I play through a pair of 2x10 cabs. These are entirely manageable for me at age 57 and I don't have any need for a smaller single cab for some settings these days. One 2x10 is fine for quiet practice at home and also for playing at some smaller venues.

I'm sure that if I were to go shopping for better portability in something at least as potent as the cabs I use now, I'd want to look into a cab from Barefaced Audio.

Traynor makes three small block combos - SB110, SB112 and SB115. I've used the Rumbles and even some small Markbass combos, but I have been really impressed with my SB112 (200w at 4 ohms) and use it every chance I get so I don't have to take my SWR out unless its a really big or outdoor gig.
It doesn't look like Traynor has distribution in the UK.
