Thanks for the PM's and for the input so far. A quick question....how about something from Low Down Sound? I saw the video Kjung made, and I have to say that the sound coming out of that cab is quite nice.

Did you talk to the guys at the hollywood shop? I find it hard to believe they can't source a 1x12 for you. IME the Mesa 1x12 is unique, nothing else quite like it.
Not yet, I plan on making some calls tomorrow. It would be nice if I could make it to a store and try one out as well.
Oh and I realize that with the LDS idea that I'd be waiting for them, I was thinking more about price than anything. I still think I want the Mesa though.

Two different places said the wait time for most Mesa stuff was 60-90 days, but they said the cabs might be there earlier. They wouldn't know until they placed an order though

What sucks is that most vendors never give us an ETA date until we pay them. It's super annoying because they can literally lie to us on the phone and say "yeah yeah, we've got the 1x12s in stock, just go ahead & place your SPO, and we'll ship you out an estimated ship date." then you check the system after the order is placed and they receive the purchase order...they send back some bogus date that's like 90 days out. PRS did this to me with 2 guitars for a customer. 2 guitars ordered 3 months apart, arrived 2 days apart. 5 months for one, and 2 months for the other. When I was told they were both in stock.
Mesa, does run production in "shifts" so to speak.
That is to say they have recieved orders for 20 4x10 cabs, lets say, they will usually start making a batch of the 20 cabs, along with a guestimated number of cabs that are currently unspoken for, but that may be ordered before the lot is completed.
It lies somewhere between "special order" and "custom shop" but it certinaly isnt like they have a warehouse of them ready to go.
I believe this is also how PRS works their factory. Which would explain the weird sudden arrival of two guitars ordered months apart, but certainly doesnt explain the bait n switch tactic on an ETA. (Jeremiah, by chance was your Rep for PRS Jim Greenhill?)

Thanks for the explanations...I understand Mesa is a small factory and everything is hand made..I'm probably taking the wrong approach to this. If these are the cabs I want, I should be willing to wait a bit...although 3 months is too long. I'll start calling around tomorrow to see about prices and such. It's been a busy week and I haven't had a chance to do any kind of exhaustive search
If the 112 cab is anything like my 410 or some of the other 212s I've played I'm sure it will be awesome.

I can see that. FWIW, my local GC is full of very cool dudes. Although the bass player is kind of weird and smells like onions all the time. I almost always head over to the guitarists to help me out...

Yeah, he's a nice enough guy....but onions...actually the 2X12 they have there is on my list. I do wish that GC's in general would employ more instrument specific people. I'd love to have a job where I could work a second job ,part time, at a GC...seems like it could be a fun time. I wind up answering questions most of the times in GC's anyways.
Yeah, I hear ya. Wish I could ONLY deal with basses, bass amps & effects, company isn't structured for it which is kind of a drag, but they're real helpful at getting everybody up to a base level of knowledge...it's up to the employee to learn more. I do try to deal with anybody who plays bass as soon as they walk in though...they're my people
...and I post here too which helps(sometimes)GC is definitely the best job I've had, doesn't pay a whole lot, but it's worth it to me. I get to be around gear all day. Play new gear when it comes in, talk to and meet product reps and all that jazz.
