Line 6 DL4 expression pedal

So, I bought a Line 6 DL4 and wanted an expression pedal to go with it. The store was out of Line 6 expression pedals and suggested I buy an M-Audio Exprssion pedal. They thought it would work with it. I'm finding I'm not getting any functionality out of it. Is there something I need to do to set up it up correctly, or will this expression pedal not work with the unit?

I had a boss volume/expression with mine... seemed to work fine. Take your pedal back and try with another one. Maybe it's just a dud?

If you haven't already, I'd first try calibrating the pedal with the DL4 as per the manual - I can't remember the exact procedure but the manual is on the Line 6 site.

no, i arrogantly assumed i'd just figure it out. maybe i should read the directions...

yeah, DL4 expression pedal setup is weird. I sometimes still get the wrong parameters attached to polarity of the pedal and such, even if i follow instructions (what i think is) exactly.

the pedal you bought was probably a stereo (trs) expression pedal.

DL4 needs mono.

too bad too - those m-audio pedals are great.

i don't understand this calibration BS for the Line6 exp pedals....i'm having a particular problem with my line 6 exp pedal plus the fm4. the fully toe down position varies from time to time. for instance i have particular sounds that i need in the toe down position and sometimes it gets iffy (stupid way to decribe..i know) and the next time i play it there is an added 5% of mobility on the toe down position and it totally ****s up my sound. all i know is that it pisses me off because when i have that unwanted range of sound i need to manually put the position of the exp pedal which blows. sorry if i make absolutely no sense.
