Mods, if this is the wrong place I apologize....

The battery compartment on my transmitter seems to have loosened up or something. The batteries lose contact inside and causes the unit to essentially stop working briefly. Sometimes not so briefly. I tried duct taping the door really tightly to facilitate a tighter fit, but that only worked for one gig. Another bassist friend has the same unit and the same problem. I bought it new about a year or so ago. Anybody else?

I've had mine for close to FIVE (5) yrs now.. never had this issue, and I gig pretty much most weekends.
Is it the spring connectors on the inside or the door than no longer latches tightly - that cause the glitch?
Have you tried using a small screwdriver or needle-nose pliers to "lift" the inside connectors?

PS: Not at home right now.. so can't look at my battery box... can do that tonight (central time).

I can try that. I mean you can HEAR the batteries wiggling back and forth if you shake the unit. That's pretty loose.

Yes, that is pretty loose.. Maybe the manufacturing standards changed over the years? idk.
I tried going with EBL 2800mAh rechargeable AA's a while back (gigging frequently I go thru lotsa batteries), but they are slightly oversized and extremely difficult to remove from the G90 pack..

I'll look at mine tonight and see how loose my standard 2300mAh rechargeable Energizer AA's fit..

Ha! I tried folded up aluminum foil! Makes the connection tight and keeps the juice flowing! FIXED!!!

LOL - whatever works.. but aluminum foil is conductive.. so might be a problem at some point if it "shorts" across the terminals?
Paper perhaps?

My transmitter for my G50 fell just right to break the door lock so I have to tape mine shut. I avoid stretchable tapes like duct tape or electrical because even when put on tight they tend to loosen up after a couple hours, surprisingly masking tape is working pretty good right now. I have tried the aluminum foil to good success but I would be worried about it long term too but it works for a temporary fix.

it could still short something out.. it's 2 AA's end-to-end.. running at 2.6-3v - so it might
simply shut off the xmitter if it slips between a battery and the other terminal? idk? I tend to prepare for the worst case scenarios!
