Line 6 HX Stomp

I'm at work, so I can't play with it, but I also noticed there is a "capo" function. Does that only go up from E, or can it go down too? I was thinking it might be another way to do lower tunings, if it will go down in pitch. Killer update, btw!

This comes right as I updated to 2.92 to solve an issue I had last night. Turned on my stomp after about week, sitting due to being packed after a show, and no input or output. The patches would change and HX Edit would connect but no sound. Did the upgrade and everything is working. Hopefully this will go smooth. :)

This will indeed make the last couple hours of work unbearably long until I can get home to update, but I'm super excited to see this! Reading through the patch notes now. Looking forward to checking out the new models/features, and the 8 blocks is going to open up some options based on how I personally use the Stomp. I've been controlling MIDI on my pedalboard through other methods not HXFX for a while now, so dare I say that it may even replace the bigger unit on my main board? Hmmmmm...

@Digital Igloo ... Thanks so much for all the hours and hard work you and your team continue to put in to support the Helix platform. As Covid 2020 continues, I've found myself diving in and exploring with my Stomp in ways that I may not have paid attention to if I was just working on stuff "for the next gig." Hats off to the Line 6 crew, I wish I could buy you a beer, brother!

There's 8 blocks, but there's not more DSP.

Im not running anything too heavy, so adding a compressor to each of them shouldnt be an issue. I dont use pitch shifting or anything like that.

Same here. I already have the same comp and EQ block at the beginning of most of my Stomp's gig patches. I think an IR block and an (occasional) amp model* are probably the only real DSP heavy blocks I use, and I don't have an amp model on every patch. Those are just for specific flavor, like the SVT/8x10 combo and a B15 patch. Otherwise, it's usually just the IR block with some tone shaping from the EQ block.

*Picked up Dr. Bonkers' MBGR IR (Mesa Boogie Road Ready 8x10) a couple days ago and ding dang it sounds good paired with the Stomp's SVT amp model.

Although it would be a nice if there was a way to see a percentage of DSP used on each preset

That'd be a neat addition of course, but not something I feel like I'd "need." We'll find out pretty quick if we hit the DSP wall! ;);)

Right. It will not work with all type of blocks. But at least you have the option now to line up to 8 blocks. For me that's more than I will ever need. For guitar you may need more, but for bass I guess it's sufficient.

But there is a lot more on the new options list. A lot more functions for free. I like that kind of service from Line6. I hope they keep up with that and continue adding new features, new models etc. Thanks !

I was able to fill out my chain the way I wanted for using my Stomp as a standalone unit, no sweat. I don't use an amp sim on all my patches, so I can swap in a poly effect in that spot if I want.

If the Stomp replaces my HXFX on my main board, I can drop several blocks here (octaver, filter and comp to start) and then have enough DSP to have a poly effect AND an amp sim.

Pretty darn excited about the possibilities with 8 blocks! Could very well be a gamechanger for my pedalboard setup.
