Line 6 M9

I've been using one that belongs to a friend. The more I use it the more I like it. At first I didn't really care for the gain based effects, but as I've gotten used to tweaking them they've become one of my favorite parts of the pedal. I'm also finding useful delay, reverb, chorus and tremolo. I haven't gotten much I like out of the filters but I'm not a big filter person anyway. I'm a little disappointed with the compressors. They seem to work better as tone shapers than as actual compressors. I'm buying one ASAP.

I own an M13 and use it all the time. I have a Tube Comp patch that's on all the time. It boosts and smooths out my signal really nicely. Been dialing in different dirts, and I like the Bass Octaver, chorus and tremolo for bass. Overall, a very good unit.

From what I hear about these I may just have to try one out. I'm sure I'll keep my od and comp but I kind of miss having a multi for the occasional whatever that I wouldn't want a dedicated pedal for. Does the M9 have an effects loop? Does it run at line level as well as instrument?

Well, you can only use 3 effects at a time, although you can have 6 ready to go per scene.

You can use the toe up vs toe down on the expression pedal to essentially double the available settings though.

You can also set up scenes with different pedal combinations and switch between those as well.

Well realistically, you you don't need more than 6 effects in a song - so if with the M9 I could have 6 effects at my feet without having to bend down; and also switch scenes and end up with a different set of 6, that is more than ample IMO. Plus I don't see needing more than 3 effects running simultaneously. If you have 3 and you hit a 4th, what happens? Does it just not engage, or does it apply the 4th and disengage the one of the 3 already going?

Also, how accessible is the looper while playing live? Can you pre-store multiple loops and recall them later at another time?

Thanks! Sorry for all the questions, I am all but ready to buy this thing, but a few things are nagging at me before I go for it. Thanks, Gus

That's cool - in the end, I have a fairly versatile head, don't really nead the additional EQ - just curious.. I like the set up. Honestly, I don't think I'll have more than 2 effects running at a time [I say that now! :)...]And having six effects available at my feet at one time will be more than I need!
