I had an X2. Sound quality was excellent and worked great when it worked.
I started having trouble with the cable connection on the transmitter after 4-5 gigs. I sent it back for warranty repair but the problem persisted when I got it back. Line 6 stepped up to the plate and provided me a G30 for free.
It's been trouble free for the last 4 months gigging every weekend. I wouldn't hesitate for a minute to buy a second or step up to a G50. Especially knowing the customer service is top notch.

I have the G30 . . . it's one of the best additions that I have made to my bass outfit! Excellent sound, and I've literally walked outside of the building to see how far it was effective. The G30 should be enough, unless you are a klutz, then get the G50 with the metal case. BTW, I paid under $200 for the G30 . . .

the G50 has a couple more features than the G30 other than longer range. It has 2 outputs, a main out and a tuner out. The body pack has a mute button on it that mutes the main out. The G50 also has more channels to chose from. But the G30 does have a standard 1/4 jack on the body pack and the transimtter is smaller.

What's cool about both the G30 and G50 is that the receivers will run on 9v pedal power.

I have the X2 and I love it. Picked it up used in like new condition for $100. I've been using it regularly for about 4 months and have had zero issues.

I did spring for some lithium-ion rechargeable batteries, and while expensive they have an amazingly long life. I can get 16-18 hours of use out of them.

If it dies I'll try to find another, if I can't I'll likely go with the G30.

I absolutely love my X2 XDS plus system

It is the (900mhz) operating syst that was still made in the US = to the G50 syst that operates in the same (2.4 ghz) same as a computer wireless router

I did make my own custom cable, the one that comes with the X2 systems are the systems weak link

Yeah, I have both the XDR-95 and XDS-PLUS systems, and Hitech Li-ION rechargeable 9v batteries, and the total system works fantastically - literally trouble-free gigs every weekend for the last 4 years...
