Line Out VS Preamp Out

My amp has a line out and a preamp out. What's the difference? I plan to run line from one or the other to a recording interface connected to my laptop. I can disable the power output on my amp if I am not using the Bass cab.
Are all preamp out puts the same, say like the output from a phono preamp?

So it looks like the "preamp out" is equivalent to an FX send. The output of the preamp would be patched some external device, whose output would patch to the amp's "power amp input". The "line out" seems to be a sort of DI, with some electronic wizardry to modify the tone/EQ for low levels to go to a recording device of some sort. So they are different. Try them out, see what you like. Both are line level signals at @2V RMS 600 Ohms (low impedance).
