ErnieD, your thing with the red light almost sounds like maybe the xmitter and xcvr were maybe set to different channels? Did you check that when you were at the venue trying to get it to work?

I've had mine for well over a year, now. I've never had a dropout, that I can remember.

I do notice that the low battery flashing light thing doesn't come on until just minutes before the batteries die, so you really have to be watching for it.

I just stick in a freshly charged set of Energizer rechargeables before any kind of gig/jam session. With a fresh set, I get 6+ hours, I think.

I got to the gig early so I would have time to mess about with it since I'd put the new batts in. Was looking forward to using it on this huge stage. I tried several diff channels and made sure trans/rec were on same channel each time, diff cables, removed/installed batts a couple times. Did all I could.

I mighta done something wrong but I spent a good while with it there and red light stayed lit. Not sure what would cause the unit to show a red light on AUDIO besides the obvious. But again, it now works fine back here at home.

OH AND, I was able to go back thru the Line 6 email I got after I registered and it now took the SR# this time. So one issue fixed; at this point not sure there's another.

I was just trying to determine if I should send the unit back before the 90 day refurb warranty expires. Just one gig in June so far and only one new band rehearsal in mid-June so I'll see if it works OK then. May not be a problem here afterall. Just a narrow return window under warranty. We'll see. Thanks for the replies.

no issues with the batt door so far. I only had a couple new Duracells laying about so used them first time here.

To be sure door closes well, I push down on the the door then I slide the lock/latch over with my thumb to be sure its closed well. No problem with that so far.

I'm really hoping it works well from now on. Didn't think I'd make much use of it but it feels good not to be teathered to my rig now. But as always I will keep a couple inst cables in my gearbag.....and batteries too.

I've been using a G50 for a couple years now. Perfect performance in every venue, in and out, inside densley populated areas with and without wifi. I've never had a problem, and the battery meter on the G50 receiver on my pedal board gives me plenty of notice if I'm running low. I've played a full 50 min set on red (and eventually blinking red) without it dying. I use it on the full power mode and still get at least 2 nights of playing on a set of AA's. I turn it off between sets to conserve power.

Just wondered if anyone can add to what might cause the AUDIO light to stay lit solid red? Besides the obvious, wrong channel on trans/recvr, bad/loose cable, dead batts, etc.

Just wonderd if certain buildings or anything else that might cause this issue. Trying to troubleshoot here. May gig back at that venue next month or so. I'll def double/triple check everything possible this time.

I've owned/used/gigged my G30 for well over a year now... maybe two. It's never given me an ounce of trouble and it gets used on an almost daily basis. This past Monday I did a studio session, and as an experiment used my G30 to connect... flawless... was told it's a perfect connection.

I'm currently sitting at my laptop (iBook), connected via Apple airport wifi, with G30 transmitter in front of me. Turning it on has no effect on my connection.

The battery door could be designed better. Easy to close it properly but you have to be mindful of what you're doing.

FWIW I have a Linksys WRT54G and the Line 6 G50. I turned the G50 on and neither of my laptops had any wireless problems. I had the G50 fairly close to the Linksys. One laptop is close by and the other is almost directly up a story.

Very impressed with the G50 so far. Played a gig where I walked out to do a sound check and the dance floor filled before I could make it back. (To be honest I expected this to happen) I almost couldn't see the stage for all the people yet no drop outs. I know my old X2 would have given up.

I found this thread after figuring out that my g30 was killing my wifi here at the house. The signal was strong enough to completely block all internet activity during band practice, which explains why my son always complains about the wifi going out while we are practicing.

I'm wondering if there are some rogue G30's out there, or maybe a certain channel is interfering with wi-fi? One year anniv of my G30, still runs great. No wifi issue at all.

I've had my G30 for a little over a year . . . absolutely no problems; batteries last a very longtime; and I just tried it (all six channels) with two diff laptops - no wi-fi issues at all!

I have a different issue with mine. My cell phone can't be within about a five foot radius of the receiver. Whenever I get a text or email it cuts out momentarily. Not a real big deal. Other than that it's been flawless for the last year.

In WiFi 2.4Ghz band it's up to the "good neighbor" if you'll get interference.

People want high throughput for streaming and want to use a 40ghz bandwidth by bonding two channels. The hardware, the routers, don't allow this if another nearby router is using one of the channels. It's a "good neighbor". But there are some who know flip this off and take the channels anyhow. Routers are all running Linux and there are plenty of hackers. The 5Ghz band isn't as crowded, but so far I haven't seen any wireless audio up there, and it's more line of site.
