List Your FAVORITE Bass System

The Atlas Compressor is the essential pedal. The other two are optional.

Also, my Line 6 G75 Wireless system, which is not pictured.

The only difference I've ever experienced from a cable was whether or not it worked. Works = good. Doesn't work = bad.
Maybe my Ernie Ball coiled cable was wearing out or stepped on one two many times. It still worked, but the power and sound loss was apparently gradual, so I hadn’t realized it. Or, maybe you get what you pay for.

My favorite rig for playing rock & alternative:

1. USA Peavey Fury with stock pickup wired straight to output jack and strung with D'addario Chromes plucked aggressively with a Dunlop .73mm yellow tortex plectrum.
2. Line 6 G70 wireless system (built in tuner/boost capability) into a TC electronic Thunderstorm Flanger (I use other pedals, but that's the only essential).
3. Mesa Boogie Bass 800D into their Subway 210 paired with a Subway 115.

Glorious sound. Play fingerstyle, adjust technique, add/drop pedals as needed, and/or amp eq for other genres.

One of my 15 RondoMusic Hadean bass ukes, all modified the same way by Eric's Guitar Shop in Sound City (yes, THAT Sound City), with a high mass fully adjustable bridge, mini humbucker neck pickup that plugs into the existing active preamp, Kala/Galli flatwound nylon core bass uke strings that, to our surprise, works perfectly with the magnetic pups.

HipShot Ultralite tuning pegs, on/off battery switch so I can leave the Lekato WS-50 wireless pods plugged in between sets. The basses are distinguished by the finish done by Pat Wilkins. Amp is a Phil Jones Double Four Plus and 42Ah battery for most of the gigs my 35 member uke group does, or a Carvin MB15 combo 200w amp with neo 15", plus a matching 115MBE cabinet for 250w when needed. An iPad Pro 12.9" with about 300 song sheets using the MobileSheets app.

Now, that’s a bass system. The bass ukes are very cool

My only real good picture, this amp…

With various basses, Kay, Fender, Carvin, Cort, Essex, Brice, Harley Benton going through it.

Wearing different strings, Spirocore weich, Rotosound Swing bass 66, Dunlop Super Brights MM, Trace Elliot, La Bella 1954 flats, GHS Boomers, D'Addario.

With working cords of undetermined origins.

Sometimes assisted by a cat 😐...

Tonight it's an MTD Kingston LK4 through a Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 12T. BL's request. Probably no additional signal processing (maybe my FDeck HPF). Tomorrow night the Suttle rig w/ a 1x15 extension cab, Zoom B1X Four, aforementioned HPF, heavily modded Brubaker Brute, modded Kramer DS-1. My choice. Next week some other basses, same basic amp. NYE other basses, same amp. Variety is my spice of life!

I consider a "system" something that is modular and can be easily reconfigured as needed/wanted. So, this is what my system entails...

Basses - 4 string Squier Precision (P/J) or my 6 string Ibanez GSR206 plugged into...
> Zoom B1X FOUR >Xenyx 4 channel USB mixer > USB to laptop (for recording) and/or one or two chained Rumble 100's (V3), and/or monitors, FOH, etc.

The key to my "system" was my Zoom and Xenyx mixer. My Zoom has "my" tones in programmed Patches and the mixer allows for patching this "system" board into anything after. A modular system that allows me to reconfigure it as the need arises, whether it's recording, practicing, jamming with others, gigs, through my own amps or other amps/mixers, etc.
