There’s a lot of that between different languages. My heritage is Greek, my wife is of Chinese heritage. Unfortunately the word for ants in Chinese is the same as the Greek slang for lady parts, when my wife first visited my mother she commented on all the ants in the garden but used the Chinese word for ants rather than English.
Mum was totally confused until I explained it to her- after that she understood why I was laughing so hard. My wife got a laugh out of it too in the end...
