I also dealt with Peter Murray. He's was a big helpt o me. He answered all my questions very prompt. Of course I wish I could say the same with the Guitar Center individual, who I've yet to hear from on being overcharged.

IMHO...I feel the LMII may be a generation or two in getting some problems resolved. I had the same thing happen when I purchased the CD10 , 2 x 10 comob. Used it on a gig, with a Epifani 2 x 10, both 8 ohms, which = a 4 ohm load. The combo amp completely shut down. That's when I went with the head.

And Tony, you're making the assumption you can sell that amp in a month or two for what you paid for mine. The only problem with that is is more negative press is reported on the LMII.
If 1,000 units are sold in the US, and 5-6 are bad...that is only 5-6% which isn't a bad stat, but on a 100 or 500....that stat is totally unacceptable.
Again, IMHO I see the demand exceeding the supply....and when that happens sometimes the product is "too mass " produced.
I again I think the amp is a great idea, great sound.......but it still has to be around for a year or so to get a real outlook on it. Time will tell.

Well, I think there is enough demand here that their value will remain relatively stable on the used market, but that is if I even decide to sell it that quickly. Also, your math is a little wrong. Five units bad out of 1000 is a 0.5% failure rate, not 5%.

Edit: I see I've been beaten twice on the math already.

To be fair, I think there are *probably* just as many, if not more TBers who have bought T-Funk's and as I recall, I've seen very few problems with them. I'm searching my memory banks now for any issues with a T-Funk and can't seem to come up with any at the moment...

And I own both heads (a LM-II and a 550B, so I think I'm objective)...

Of course mine is working fine, tho I've logged a lot less hours on it than others posting here.

However, I do NOT want to say so just to squelch the folks posting about amp problems, and hope others aren't doing it for that reason as well. We all benefit from hearing both the good and the bad... no matter how enthusiastic we are about something. The key is, read the posts with good sensibility (sometimes a challenge for me, of course).

Remember guys, the thread is really about the service and support IF a unit fails, and every brand has some failures.

Unless there is an obvious problem in design/quality/reliability, such as with the iAmp800 failures (later found out to be a batch of false chips or something), the EA300 failures (total recall of due to faulty power supplies), or the earlier Ashdown500 issues (which the company rep 'fessed up to and since I think has been addressed), it's hard to gauge if failure rates are 'unacceptable' on a site like this.

So, back to the thread topic, from Roscoe's experience, there seem to be a few hickups due to the company just setting up shop here, but it seems they are being quickly resolved.

I feel very good about my MB's at this point

Edit: As those that are familiar with my posts know, if I smell a rat, I'll be the first one to jump on it! I don't sense anything 'ugly' with these units at the moment.

+1... I think part of the issue may have been establishing a repair infrastructure which Roscoe has detailed and I certainly feel better if something "was" to happen.

I think some of the issue setting up the process may have been attributed to the actual "lack" of malfunctioning units. Just my opinion. It is still early and we all shall see.

+1! I was told that there have been only a few Markbass LMII warranty/repair issues in the US. Mine just happened to be one of them. Oh well. Guess it was my turn to carry the torch and walk my fellow TB'ers through the warranty/repair process. Glad to be of service.

There was simply a delay or two related to getting the warranty service center identified. It upset me at the time because I just got my new Nordy vJ5 and I wanted to hear it through my reference rig. In the scheme of things, the process is very smooth once a warranty center was identified. The UPS Store had shipping instructions and paperwork in their hand when I arrived. They were waiting for my amp. That's pretty cool.

I believe the warranty/Repair process has been clearly identified now. You can thank me now or thank me later. I'm here to be of service to my fellow TB'ers.

Only time will tell whether we see more failures, or if this was one of those isolated occurences. I choose not to create a mob scene/Markbass failure thread. Sh*t happens. It's just too early to tell if there is a pervasive, ongoing issue.

I've relaxed now and simply look forward to my LMII being returned. Gary (aka - Roscoe5)
