live bass rig for electric and upright

Anybody have some success with this?

I've been experimenting with the electric and upright live rig for a little while now and I've had mixed results. EQ is the most prominent problem.

If anybody has a great working rig please let me know what you have! Thanks.

You need one or more bands of parametric EQ in your rig.
Try something by Eden.

I double...yeah, you need an ABY box and a separate EQ for the upright. I used to use a Morley ABY box into an old ancient Alesis Micro EQ, but now I use an EBS Microbass II because it's an ABY box and has separate EQing, albeit a very odd kind of EQing. A Radial Bassbone is also a pretty cool device for switching between two instruments and it's a lot cheaper than a Microbass.

If your volume needs are relatively modest, I would suggest a Phil Jones Bass Suitcase. It has two separate preamps that can be configured for two different needs, and sounds great. It's pretty loud for it's size, but it does have its limitations. I would also recommend the Mesa Walkabout Scout. If you want a second EQ possibility, you can add a second EQ in the effects loop.

I think I figured it out. I'm going to run a Fishman Platinum Bass EQ for the upright, a Sansamp or radial tone bone for the electric, both going into the radial bigshot I/O and then into a QSC PLX power amp.

Sound good?

I think you may find the Fishman EQ a little superfluous, unless of course you're using a Fishman pickup, and then you'd need it
