C'mon, now, bebass; you'll scare the kids. Granted, you'd lose all sense of dynamics if the ratio is set to infinity, with instant attack and very low threshold. Of course, most bassists who use compression use much less drastic settings.

Of course I do use it for FOH when I am mixing. But not for personal stage. I kinda forgot what forum I was in.
I have tried so many different compression schemes and devices and did use them for a few years but not now.
I guess bottom line is how does it sound to you and does the audience run away or do the girls wink at you.
