Live Rig Expansion...Opinions Wanted....

Thanks everyone for the responses. As you can tell this is new territory for me. My 2x10 has been my "Big Rig" for years. For smaller venues I use my PJB Super Flight Case. I never thought of adding a second MB 102. But given how many have mentioned it and how much I like the single 102t it will be the route I go if needed.

Get a 102p 4ohm or just smoother 8ohm and stack them. I have an original MB Italian made 102p 4ohm and it's a little beast of a 2x10, the only thing I have paired it with was one of the 410 HF's 4ohm which was a big beast of a rig.

Maybe I missed it, but what are you trying to accomplish with this expansion? To look cooler? To be louder? More low end extension? As most have said before me, the most predictable result will come from adding a second identical cabinet. But other results may come from other options. I always try to define the end game before making the first move.

I'm looking at possibly expanding my live amp set-up. For the past 9 years I've used a Genz Benz Streamliner 900 and Markbass 102 Traveler cab.
This setup has served me well from classic rock cover bands to straight ahead jazz quartets. Obviously this set-up runs at 8 ohms and I"m using only part of the GB's 450 available watts. If I want to run a 4 ohm setup for some larger venues I'm debating if I should add a 1x12 or 1x15 cab to the 2x10. I've never really dug a 15" in on its own but wondering if the 2x10 might be the perfect complement. My instinct is to run a 1x12 with the 2x10. But, I don't often see that setup and can't help but wonder why.
I should add that weight is an issue. Anything over 40# is out ... period. I'd love to just get a GR 112 or 115 but the four figure price tag is a bit much. Same with the Mesa Subway cabs.

So what say you? Use the poll or leave a note here. Feel free to suggest brands/models. Right now the front runners are:
1x12: MB 121Traveler, Orange OBC 112, Genzler NC112
1x15: MB 151 Traveler

Would like to keep it around the $500 mark and I always prefer used.
Lastly, I'm not looking to replace the GB 900 amp. For me, it's the perfect amp and has never left me wanting for more.

I'd stick with MarkBass. Their cabs play nicely together.
P.S. I use a traveler 102P and a 121HR and they compliment each other very well.

I would be getting another cab identical to the one you have. As long as they are both 8ohms, you're good to go.

If size/weight is important, does MB make a 1x10 that would stack on top (or under) your 2x10? If your amp can handle that ohm load that could be a tidy way to add a little more umph to your "big rig" while still being as small as possible. I have a 2x12 and a 1x12--same brand, etc, and adding that 3rd driver does ALOT. A little 3x10 stack could be pretty cool (whether it would be enough of a change only you will know).

112s seem the most practical as mentioned by another.

The Genzler NC 112's are ridiculously light and the vertical design w top edge handle seem ideal for taller folks so I ordered 2 (for the WD 800).
