Double Bass LNR Music- Problems???

I have had a response from Invalid Link Removed in Munich, Germany. They carry actual stock of these strings for 208 euro (~US$275) and appear to have competitive shipping rates (I was quoted 12 euro or ~US$16 to New Zealand, which is unheard of).

They have a real bricks and mortar store, and do seem to have their "sh!t together", to quote an earlier poster. If Lou squanders this second chance, I will definitely be taking my business to them.

If they have them in stock you will get them soon. If not, they might need to order them which might take up to 8 weeks, depending on the manufacturer and string type. (I did wait for Corelli, SuperSensitive and Innovation high-C strings about that much. Common strings like a Spiro set took a few days to a week inside of Germany.)

Bassico is a section of Mastri, so do not wonder if you get your packet from them.

So after 2 months of radio silence and about 4 months since I ordered my strings, put through a paypal dispute request for refund, contacted Velvet strings who contacted Lou a few weeks ago, I received a response and paypal refund in my email yesterday.
For anyone else that is waiting for string orders, here's the response:

"I have not been able to stock strings for a few months now. I hope to be in a better situation soon.

Thank you for your past business.

Sincerely
Lou Roten"

I'm happy I got my money back, so all is good on my end. Good luck to anyone else, and I won't be ordering from LNR again. If he's not stocking strings, then he shouldn't be taking orders for strings.

Glad you got your refund, TK. I've been assured that my strings have been ordered, but this has not yet been confirmed by Nuno. Lou strikes me as a decent guy who's just in over his head right now, and it would be a shame to see him stay under. His plan is to start stocking strings this year, but I'm not sure if he's planning to update his website such that it will show what's in and what isn't. Completely understand why some at least wouldn't order from him again or ever, though. Not sure myself.

Quick update - after 2 months and 3 days, my Garbo-gut G set has arrived. Hope to restring tonight.

Hopefully Lou will start stocking strings now, and these delays will not recur. I advise potential customers to check availability before placing an order.

Another annoyed customer here... I knew it would be some time for my Animas to arrive, as he informed me they were out of stock, but now it's been since the beginning of August, and no word, and no response to my inquiries. It would feel better just to be told that they've been ordered, or something. Of course now it's too late to cancel with Paypal... I sure hope they come eventually. This is definitely the last time I order from him.

Has anyone heard from him recently as to whether he has shipments coming in soon?

Recent experience with LNR. Ordered a product. Had to send an email reminder a week later about order. Said it would ship the next day, but didn't. No communication or response with a tracking number. Filed a Paypal claim. Product was received over a month later. By that time, I purchased it else where as I had received no response and assumed it was fraud. Returned the product to LNR the next day with an email stating I wanted a full refund and product was shipped back. Product return was confirmed by USPS (with pictures and email) at his local office where this business runs through a P.O. Box. LNR won't verify the return to paypal and wins the dispute. He has my money and the product. What a horrible display of integrity and conducting a business. He isn't a good guy or forgetful as stated in previous posts, he is an absolute crook! DON'T EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM LNR!

I wonder why Velvet allows him to continue to sell their products. It def makes them look bad. In my past dealing I was told my 2 month delay was due to product not being available. An email to Velvet cleared up that they had plenty of product but they had no order from him, I'm guessing because he was lacking funds to place the order. Hopefully anyone thinking about ordering through LNR because of their low prices will do a search and come across this thread, wished I had.
