Logic Pro is now available for iPad. But you can only get it on subscription for monthly or annually. I’m wondering if Logic Pro for Mac will go subscription as well…

I love GarageBand on iPad much better than on my Mac. I bet the Logic Pro software on iPad will be nice.

I don’t think they’ll make the full version subscription. It makes sense on the iPad, since it’s likely that beginners, small time podcasters and such will sign up for a month or two and then cancel the subscription once they’ve done whatever it is they want to do.

The biggest downside that I can see so far is that there’s no provision for using VST and virtual instruments. It’s likely that one could still use AUv3 but I haven’t seen any documentation about it yet.

Thanks for mentioning that. Apple doesn’t make it clear that it’s an iPad version.
