look at this ruined alembic

Seen it before. He wants $900 cash for a local deal. If he is the original owner it begs the question where did the original pickups go? I would be all over it if he had the original pickups and it was less money. Sell of the EMG's and restore the bass, but he probably has some story about throwing the pickups away..........it sounds like these pickups were put in last year.

I'd agree it's not worth what he's asking with the EMGs in it. Before I go calling him names, I would be curious what happened to the original electronics. Maybe they got damaged or died on him and he had to replace them, who knows what the story is? But I agree, a set of garden-variety EMGs is no substitute for the original electronics, and the value is way down for that.

Okay, I won't call him names but can we at least all admit he is delusional at best?

The replacement costs for Alembic pups / elex are prohibitive and the botched mods make restoration to the original state a no-win situation for the new owner. The best I could do would be to offer ~$300 (the neck & body are worth that) and then slap on a custom wood veneer pickguard (to disguise the routs). I would also use the opportunity to "clean up" the new EMG's (centering, spacing, orientation) knowing the the mods would be camouflaged.
