Look at what I saw at GC!

Bill Wyman played one. That alone tells you they came in short scale. Bill hates long scale.
Bill Wyman actually played the Travis Bean that the Kramer was modeled after.

I played both back in the day, and the Bean clearly was a better bass. But the Kramers are not without their charm.
 
They were cool--and so were the necks--literally-& I heard from some that on a stage under bright lights they got hot.
That would be the barrier for me.
Even with the inlaid wood strips--the metal was still cold to the touch.
But still kind of cool.
