Look what Dunlop sent me

Out of cuiosity, if you knew it was your fault that the install messed up, why did you call customer service?

I didn't call, wrote them an email. I wrote in complaint that the schaller straplocks went in with no problem and the dunlops didn't.

Man, I feel kind of stupid now. I could have not followed the directions with mine and got some free strings. j/k That is cool of them to send you a T-Shirt and strings for your hassle...even if it was your fault. Good customer service seems harder to find the more the economy tanks but these guys seem hell bent on keeping a good word of mouth.

Dunlop went way above and beyond my expectations when I contacted them about a Carbon Copy Delay. I will choose their products over others when they are available. See my Sig.

It never even crossed my mind to even contact them about something similar to this. What happened with my straplocks was the screw broke in the bass so the hole had to be redrilled. Not really a big deal since the straplock button covered it but still a little bit of a pain. After reading the OP I sent off a quick email to Dunlop. They replied within the hour and are sending me a few new sets of strings. Definitely the best customer service I've ever had and because of this I will continue to purchase products and will specifically look for their brand name whenever I need something for any of my basses or guitars.

I remember when i was putting in my Dunlop Straploks I tried my very best not to strip that screw, hah. It was getting me really mad, I had to walk away from my bass for a few minutes to keep my cool. Like the OP's bass, the horn on my bass was pointed at the neck too. Thankfully they work great and after reading your customer service story I feel really safe with Dunlop.

Yeah, shame on Dunlop for using bigger screws to make your strap more securely attached to your bass. Wait, isn't that the whole purpose of straplocks? :scowl:

(Note: I'm a Schaller user, but thats because I think they have a better locking mechanism, not because I am baffled by the concept of putting something into a hole that is too small.)

EDIT: It is REALLY good customer service to send you free swag because you botched the installation!
