For some reason, the SVT breathes better & thumps harder at 2 ohm w/ 2- 8x10 cab's. Believe me, you'll never understand, until you experience it. Also, jumpering the channels, you can get almost any sound at most volumes...

I've never loved the SVT thing, based on backline experiences, but I TOTALLY dig the spirit with which the OP embarked on the SVT 8x10 train!

Next on your bucket list is to gig this rig and pin some skulls to the back wall of the club.
Then, and only then, will you truly appreciate the pillowy experience of unleashing that bad boy through a pair of 8x10's, the way it was intended to maim.
As always, the perfect time to do this is now!
Ever notice that most of the guys who own supercars are rather, ummm......seasoned, to put it nicely?
To be blunt, their reflexes and reaction times are on a downward trend, rendering them incapable of operating their machine at the edges of it's performance envelope, the way they always imagined they would.
There are certain things in life one should do when one is young enough to truly capitalize on the experience, and you, sir, have just navigated your way into one of them!!.

It is true I cannot currently experience this cabinet in a live band mix but that does not mean I am not having fun and learning to use it. Though I have had the SVT head for years, played through 15" speakers mostly, I had not 'jumped' the two channels until yesterday. Marked improvement. With all controls set as close to 'neutral' as possible, jumpering the channels gives the rig a fatter, fuller tone. From there, it is pretty fun to play with volume and tone controls.
I had never played through four tens before this, let alone eight. Historically, I have definitely been a 15-guy. This cab is punchy as heck. Middy, but with PLENTY of low frequency horsepower. As I mentioned, I adore the tone of the TL606s with EVM15s, pictured in my OP. They are, in a word, highly "musical." Well....this 810 does that too! It provides a character which is hard to describe. Maybe 'timbre' works best. Texture.
Now for that Harley.....

One more thing. I want to recognize someone. "Mike" placed the ad for this fridge on our local CraigsList and did my homework before responding (thank you, JimmyM). In my response, which was a phone call (Mike picked up his ringing phone), I simply reported to Mike that I wanted to buy it but could not pick it up for at least several days. I was prepared to send him a check, then pick it up later. Before I offered this, Mike simply said he trusted my word, considers it sold, will delete the ad (which he did), and did not need payment until we meet. Several days later, he offered to bring the cab closer to me (he lives at some distance from me), which he did not need to do. The cab is in, I would say, better condition than he described. I handed him some cash. He counted it, then reported I had paid him too much and handed me back $100.

He visited here, and appreciates my remarks. I did not ask and he did not post. I may suggest he do, so that we might know him, and connect his TB name with his moral compass. Real nice fellow. I breathe more smoothly when I have interacted with people such as he.
