My cat only brings me dead birds. 
That's almost too pretty! How do you know what notes to play without fret markers lol? 
Nice! I don’t have a cat. But my dog caught a squirrel and dragged it onto the porch and peed on it. I can’t read her mind but on some level I feel like she’s shaking her fist at the tree and shouting “tell your friends!”
She’s definitely strong enough to drag a sweet bass like that but all I get is cracked armadillos and once a raccoon and a skunk once in a while which usually ends in a tie score, if you know what I mean.

Mine brings mice and shrews. Also likes to bring them to me half dead and bat them around in the air...good kitty!My cat only brings me dead birds.

One of the cat I owned a few years ago brought me a dead mouse with the trap that killed it. Absolutly not the same level of artistry taste, cats are weird you know... Nice catch from yours anyway OP.

If you look closely, you’ll see that there are in fact fret markers on the upper edge of the fretboard. I assume they’re visible from the side as well. It’s an original and cool solution IMO.That's almost too pretty! How do you know what notes to play without fret markers lol?
Position markers on a fretboard are there for the audience to see. Unless you're hunched over, you won't (and therefore shouldn't) see them while you're playing. But on the side of the neck? Go for it:
