Recently gotten back into playing bass and the noise from the jazz pickup is starting to annoy me. It's an old entry level yamaha p/j bass so I don't want to spend too much money on it so if anyone can recommend me something cheap I'll be all ears.

Looking for a cheap noisless jazz pickup

DiMarzio Area J for vintage tone, and Model J if you want something more powerful and aggressive.
Both suggestions above excellent, but not what I call cheap. Check out guitarmadness, a seller on the bay. Noiseless jazz rail set for under $30. Are they amazing?, probably not. But I think they're OK. And cheap! He's also got Artec noiseless PJ set pickups for about $50. Those sound good.
