Looking for a decent head.

I recently aquired an old cab of Trace Elliot 4x10s. (Some guy was selling it for 75 bucks.. What a steal, I had to take that..)

I'm not looking for anything really fancy just something to go along with it. I'd like to find an older TE head for it but ebay isn't producing anything in my price range.. I only have about 300 bucks to work with on this thing for now.. Which I know isn't a lot at all for a head but it's what I got... just spent 900 bucks on the Aguilar GS412.

I play rock mostly so anything relatively suitable. If anyone has anything for sale or knows anyone I'd appreciate it. I'm not picky, like I said just looking something to get me by for awhile.

Keep an eye out for a used Peavey head. There are tons of them (quantity and different models) floating around and they can usually be had in that price range.

It sounds like you're not all that picky at the moment, and you'll rarely find a bad bargain with an old'ish peavey head. They run and run and run. It might be a very reliable match for your 2nd hand 410.

Thanks dude.. I'm going to use this rig to leave at a buddy's house for when we practice. Carrying around my pricey equipment and stuff is not the way I like to do things... Especially after spending a few thousand bucks over the last 6 months on new shiny stuff.

hes right on the peavey stuff. I strongly reccoment a peavey nitrobass or firebass. They are the same amp except the firebass has more power. The newer peaveys are the same as these except their called Max. So try to get a nitro or firebass because they are essentially the same amp and you'll get it cheaper

The Peavey Max 160 (old model name Deltabass) would fit your budget brand new. I think they may be officially discontinued though they are still readily available as new old stock. It's available at many places online, or you can probably order it from your local Peavey dealer. I got mine off the showroom floor at a local music store.

Made in USA if that matters to you. It does to me.

This amp puts out sufficient juice into my Eden D210T cabinet to work in small-medium gig settings. With a 410 this thing probably smokes. Sounds good, and has all the features you need. A used Firebass, Nitrobass, or Max 700, or Max 450 (same models different names) would be even better.

Basically it's pretty much impossible to go wrong with a Peavey head.
