4-EVER. Last time I replaced a set I spent 2 weeks wondering why.
I tried a bunch and the cobalt flats filled this bill better than any, including pressurewound and half rounds.I am really into Ernie Ball Cobalt Flats because they have the feel of a flatwound string, but you can play rock music with a pick and they don’t sound all clicky, but have a bright sound like a roundwound string. Is there another flatwound that does this? I wanted to try something else out if a such thing is available. Thank you.
That being said, if "brightness" is what you're looking for, I don't think I'd recommend [TIs]. Out of the package they sound very bright, but that wears off fast. They're fat, growly, thumpy, creamy, all that....but no one would mistake these for rounds, or EB Cobalts.
