Most zep songs are cool but those two have got seriously good bass lines. 'Ramble on' is my favourite bassline of the two but you have got to get past those cringy LOTR lyrics

I would love to be in a band that covers that tune! Back in the 90's when I had a regular "jazz" band I was going to do an arrangement for (2) saxophones, guitar, bass & drums. Sadly, no one else in the band was as excited about the idea as I was...

Agreed on 'Ramble On'. Gives you a great bass line, plus changing dynamics, plus a chance for the vocalist to work out.

I also think 'Ten Years Gone' sounds better covered than as originally recorded in many cases...great tune for tribute band.

Reading this thread has convinced me that I'm driving to Little Rock next week to see the Zep cover band they have playing up there.

I know this thread is over a year old, but it's interesting to me because I was in a similar position a few months ago. An old guitarist of mine was asked if his band could play at a Led Zep tribute night. They agreed but unfortunately broke up soon after. So he called me and a couple other guys to try and salvage the gig and like the OP, most of the better known songs were already spoken for.
