Looking for a luthier to replace a truss rod.. w/ fingerboard removal?

I have a great Carvin 6 string fretless that has been sitting in its case for years now because I snapped off the nut on the end of the truss rod. I’m afraid that the fingerboard will need to come off for the repair. I’m located in the Richmond VA area but willing to ship it for the repair job. If anyone can recommend a luthier I’d appreciate it.

Try Jeremy aka @Freekmagnet here on TB. I believe he’s done a number of those types of repairs. If you search for “scary repairs” here or Jeremy’s thread in the Luthiers Corner you’ll see some examples. Since builders aren’t supposed to solicit business on TB you should probably PM him to see if he’s interested.

Yes, Jeremy aka Dr Freekmagnet can do fingerboard removals and truss rod replacements on neck-thru basses. And he can put in a better, stronger truss rod.
