Looking for a micro sized blend pot

hmm; what kind of pot is gonna fit into that little hole?

it could be a little tricky, but if you widened the hole in the plate, you might be able to rout away wood underneath so a normal mini-sized bournes M/N could fit; if you leave the top of the bass unmolested, and only dremel away wood starting say 1/8" down, you could possibly stuff a blend pot in there and have it not show (except for the oddly large "switch toggle").

you might need to use a mini for the bass-cut pot as well, since they'd be so close together.

the bourn mini linked above fits.
i measured, and said so.
or, at least, the stated shaft size fits the measured control plate hole.
no idea if there's room in the control cavity, yet.

My guess is that it wouldn't fit the control cavity, though maybe it's worth a try. The control cavity, if it is like my '82 L2000, follows the shape of the control plate fairly snugly but smaller all the way around. Even just using a larger 4PDT switch in one of the positions that originally used a DPDT switch would have been impossible without some routing (trying to find a different use for the active/passive switch hole on mine).

Edit- the linked Bourns pot is actually not a blend pot, just a mine mono pot. The one pictured by SGD is a blend, but as he said, has a much larger shaft size. The dual-ganged pots linked would also not be ideal for a blend control unfotunately....

I reckon it'll probably have to be pup selector then.

DavePlaysBass is going to do the work on it. H'es pretty familiar with all of it 'cept the blend pot idea.

I know I could get a vol/blend pot, but, I wouldn't be able to use the stock knobs anymore.

Awesome that Dave was willing to do the work for you- he seems like the guy given his knowledge of the particular circuit!

For what its worth, I was also a little worried about the aesthetics of having the non-matching stacked knobs for the volume/volume on mine, but it really doesn't look off to me at all with the particular stack knobs I used... and I've never really used a blend that worked how I wanted it to apart from the active blend on my old Audere preamp.
