Looking for a semi hollow bass

Well this morning I got the chance to test 3 of the basses, being the epiphone, Ibanez and eastwood, and I think I made up my mind.

The Ibanez looked incredible, but sounded a bit too "modern" in my opinion, so exit Ibanez.

The Eastwood had a nice thumpy sound, and suprisingly the short scale didn't really bother me that much, but the placing of the pickups did.

And last but not least, the Epiphone JC. I can say that it felt like home. I allready have 2 Epiphone basses (a Thunderbird and an EB-3), and it just felt right. A full size bass, with a nice warm tone. My concerns about the single pickup disappeared when I started using the Varitone switch. This bass is way more versatile than I could've imagined.

So I guess my mind is made up.

I played a LP hollowbody a while back and liked it, so I'd probably like a JC even more.

But I think I'll drop a Tune-O-Matic bridge and 2 SGD wide Neos in an Eastwood Classic 4.

Scale doesn't matter to me. Casady's sound on a short scale had more balls than any 34.

SGD can build a wide Neo to fit in a guitar humbucker sized case, which the Classic 4 has.

I love sleepers. I always wanted to drop a 428 in my '67 Falcon. Nice to frag expectations.

I figure with all-maple construction and the SGDs, that Eastwood could be the ultimate beast.

And to anyone who asked, I'd just smile and say "Yeah, factory stock, what a freak, hey?"

I am looking after a semi-hollow myself, but I can not decide whether I should buy new or Vintage. I do not want that too modern sound! At the same time, is it more risky to buy vintage semi-hollow than a P-bass? How is the JC compared to a vintage Rivoli, or even the Rivoli re-issue. Of course there is a different price range, but the sound and feel? I can not find so many semi-hollowed where I live, so thank you for any respond!

I own about 20 hollow or acoustic bass guitars.
-The Jack Cassidy is a great instrument, although perhaps not the most versatile. But it is very fun to play!
-My gretsch fully hollow body is wonderful to play unplugged! I had to switch out the original pickups to thundertrons and the amplified sound is fantastic too.
-My Hofner contemporary "beatle" bass is super cool and can sound both thundurous and punchy, but the smallness of the bass is a bit uncomfortable for me.
-My ArtCore (one pickup model) is FANTASTIC! I won both the les paul style and the double cutaway models, but prefer the les paul looking bass. It's important to get on eBay and get the ONE pickup model, because the pickup is in exactly the right place! The two pickup model has cheaper sounding pickups and they are both in positions too extreme to be very useful.
-A Fender Victor Bailey acoustic bass guitar is a wonderful instrument and SUPER fun to play! I have the 4 and 5 string models (I modified the 5er to use a high C string), but the 4 string has the better sound.
-The large bodied Artcore bass (short scale) is nowhere as good as the other models (remember to get the one pickup models, used!).
And there are more, but out of the price range requested. :-)
