Looking for short scale bass bridge 18mm spacing

What exactly about the bridge would make it “short scale”?

Absolutely nothing. Hipshot gets good money for their stuff, because it is good stuff, and it is available with options like string spacing, finish, aluminum or brass, etc. If what you want is special, you often have to pay more for it. 18 mm (at east in a 4 string) is definitely special.

I’m really glad you posted this question. I have a Squier Jaguar Special SS Vintage Modified Bass that I put a Fender High Mass Bridge on. I really felt it helped the sustain. (I know this is controversial.) However I also felt that it put the G string closer to the edge of the neck, so I put the stock bridge back on. I’m not sure I can tell any difference. This made me wonder if the spacing was different on the two bridges. Or, if I should fool around with the settings on a Hipshot Kick Ass bridge that I also have. Life is full of so many hard questions.
