Looking for subtle mow mowwww Envelope/Autowah type effect.

I'd steer away from a FX25B, they don't sound too hot, and the FX25 is a far superior pedal. It just went too deep for my liking, which is why I went for the Bottom Feeder which is based off the DOD 440.
I like the FX25 a lot but for subtle, I'd avoid it altogether.
Something else to consider that hasn't been mentioned is the Pigtronix EP-1. Very warm and organic filter sounds, even at it's most extreme. But for you purposes you could turn down the resonance and intensity to get the tone you want - down to just a hint of filter if you want.
A really solid phaser as well.
I don't know about others, but EBS BassIQ has inside the control to mix the dry and wet signal, so you can have it subtle in addition to your original tone.
It is indeed a mighty fine filter! I've owned two of them in the past, but they were definitely anything but subtle. I tried a Bottom Feeder on a whim, and haven't looked back.TheBigO said:
That can work. I've currently got both my BassIq and Bottom Feeder in one of the loops on my Barge Concepts VFB. Since mine is a custom VFB and I can switch between two different blend values, I can have quacky or subtle at the stomp of a switch.
No, I meant envelope-controlled flanging. Most of the Lexicon and tc electronic delays offer this capability.
Envelope-controlled phase shifting, now that would be cool! But I don't know of any product that offers it all in one box, so you'd probably have to cobble something together from a few voltage-controlled modules.
One I haven't seen listed yet is the Electro-Harmonix Doctor Q. This pedal is very lite in the tone department. With the Range knob set to less than 1/4 it is barely there and adds very little to your sound. Many people do not like this pedal but for the right user and situation I have found a bunch of room for it. I have the Nano version. I use all the EHX envelopes QTron, BassBalls, and Dr. Q, and I used to have a reissue of the MuTron (not EHX) but of all of them Dr. Q is the least amount of effect if used correctly and it's cheap too.
