Looking for versatile, mid-sized cabs to complement a Tonehammer 500 and V4b

Hi there, on a search for a new cab. I live in a rural area in the inner mountain west so I can't pop down to the music store and try a bunch of stuff out.

Currently own a Warwick Thumb and fretless Ken Smith Designs Jazz bass, going into an Aggie TH500 or vintage Ampeg V4B, depending on my needs/mood. Epifani PS115 cabinet, which is pretty good but wondering what else is out there. Part of me wonders if I'm bored and just GASing, I've had the Epifani cab for 4-5 years now I think and it's served me fairly well. But reading everyone raving about the Bergs and Barefaced and Acmes and etc has me wondering.

Typically I play with a a slight treble cut, mid boost, and a slight bass boost at home, slight bass cut in a mix. Fairly neutral EQ wise though, typically all knobs are between 10 o'clock and 2-3 o'clock. I like growly mids. I'm not necessarily concerned with finding a super transparent amp, as much as I am one that complements my gear well. I occasionally played live in the "before times," often with questionable backline in smaller venues. 90% of my playing is jamming with friends or in my apartment so an 8x10 is too much sauce for me. I suspect I'll be looking at 1x15s, 1x12s and 2x12s, but am open to whatever. Would love it to be lightweight but I'm fine occasionally lugging around something heavy if it's worth it.

Current cabs I'm interested in and have not played:
Mesa Boogie Subway cabs
Barefaced Big Baby II
Bergantino Cabs
Aguilar DB Cabs
Genzler 12-3 & 15-3
Acme Low B cabs

Anything else I should be looking into/any recommendations for specific lines within those mfgs to look at? I live 4 hours away from the nearest Berg dealer, 15 hrs away from my nearest Aguilar dealer, 5 hrs from a Mesa/Boogie dealer, and they're all in different directions.

I don't think you'd be disappointed with anything on your list, but do you really need another cab or is this a sign of boredom? How about another amp to spice things up a bit?

I have heard great things about Genzler and Mesa amps and cabs. My cab progress went from an Epifani UL410-S1 to Berg AE112's, AE210's and a CN212, then Barefaced Super Compacts, Super Midget and some Two10's (which I sold). I would recommend any of the Bergs and Barefaced. Both companies make high quality cabs. I also ran all those cabs with an Aguilar TH500 and AG700.

My final choice was to buy the Super Compact. It's light, loud, sounds great and puts out what you put in. Only problem, it's probably the most expensive cab on your list. Then again, IMO it's worth it. With an SC you'd recoup some of the cost by selling the Epifani. You'd never use it again.

I have a Tone Hammer 500 and it sounds fantastic through my Subway 210/115 stack. Easy to the cabs are in the 30-40lb range and easy to move around.

I'm also on the fence about getting a 4 ohm Aguilar SL212. It seems like the perfect match for the TH500, and weighs in at 45 lbs. While reports on it aren't as glowing as the Subway stuff, I still like the idea of a matching Aggie rig, and a Mesa rig. (I have a TT800 to go with the Subway cabs)

Update: I finally gave in and ordered the AggieCab. I think the TH500 is gunna look KILLER on top of this thing, and I'm really looking forward to see what kinda flavor I get out of this vs my Subway cabs!

A few months before covid stopped the world I did a lot of research looking at lightweight cabs. My needs are a bit different from yours, but factoring in weight, performance, and cost it was impossible not to consider RevSound. I went with an RS212.

I haven't gigged a ton with it... but I continue to be more than impressed with the clear, tight sound, the distinction on each note. I play classic rock/blues style music, 4-string Fender/Fender-type basses, TH350, my primary need is for live situations with a relatively strong-hitting drummer.

As others have said, all the cabs discussed here are very well regarded, but I'll put my plug in for this cab builder.
