but why? modern windows got a much inferiour low-latency implementation than a modern mac, like just everywhere. the whole 'dpc latency' problem is windows-specific

there's only one DAW, available on Windows, but not on a Mac, it's the Cakewalk. it could be justified, while it was free, but it's not the case anymore. Logic Pro is a terrific value for $199, all comparable options on Windows are much more expensive.

it's cool that you use and apparently really appreciate Apple/Mac products. While high DPC latency can be an issue for audio and video work, there are hundreds of Windows machines (referencing notebookcheck.net DPC Latency Ratings) that have measured DPC latencies below 1000 μs (.001 sec) which is perfectly good for audio video work, and aside from Logic Pro, there are plenty of great DAWs that run very well on Windows platforms.

sure thing. but I really was wondering what was the point of recommending "get a windows 10 license" to a guy that already owns a mac. it won't make things better unless he's desperately wanting to run Cakewalk.

moreover, he has an ARM Mac, so he won't be able to boot into Win10 directly, only a virtual machine.

ah, I see. The OP said he was considering both Windows and Apple and was comfortable with both platforms. Downthread I see that he went ahead and bought the Mac M1 machine (by all accounts quite a performance monster).
