TBH you can tell from the poor spelling of the listing and the dodgy photo.

One of the ways they try and disguise fakes by taking slightly angled photos which hide any discrepancies of shape, size and color, as well as any damage.

The headstock is a dead giveaway. What a loser! Everybody report it to Ebay to get it taken down please (yes I already reported it, but it takes several reports to get a listing taken down).

I was wondering about that headstock....

Anyway, I'll report it when I can get on eBay (I'm currently on a uni network which blocks it).

I know eBay's supposedly trying to clamp down on fakes of stuff, but I don't see any evidence.

Oh man, what on earth is up with that headstock (reminds me of an Ibanez RG geetar) and decal? Talk about ugly as sin!

My thought as well re the $150. Of course it might catch the unsuspecting out, so I've reported it too.

What a waste of everyones time, would it really hurt to put COPY in the title?!? Obviously he thinks so, not quite as bad as getting the listing ripped though. Too bad.

$150 is only the starting bid (NOT a Buy it Now price). So people who don't know better would likely jack the price way up and somebody would get ripped off...

I think bstringrandy and I we're just saying it was probably worth $150. With no reserve it could be bought for that if you're the only bidder.

Agree with you though, it's not worth a lot more and that's the risk.

Just looking at it though, you'd have to be really, really uninformed to buy that as a Stingray with that headstock, but I suppose those folks are out there, particularly at this time of year when a parent might be buying off a wish-list.

I don't know what half you guys are on about, I don't think he's trying to fool anyone, he's clearly just pity it down as a reference to the style of the bass. I know there are some exceptionally stupid people about, but you'd have to be an complete idiot to either think you'd have a chance of passing it off as a Stingray, or not do some research before buying something that's usually a pretty expensive instrument. At the most the guys just been an arsehole and not mentioned it's a copy to entice people to look at his posting.

Plain and simple, it's a violation of Ebay rules and some poor soul could be suckered (believe it or not, some people just have no clue and believe what they read in the auction).

Agreed. You'd have to be an uninformed, first-time buyer to fall for this thinking you are getting a real StingRay. Unfortunately, there's lots of those types of people buying stuff this time of year as gifts etc.

All he needs to do is add the word "copy" to the add.

You need to have your guard up when using the "Evil-bay"!
