The BOSS DD-7 will also act as a looper. It's cheaper, but not by much.

I'd recommend the Akai Headrush over the Boss RC-2 if you want something simple and cheap.

I'd go Digitech JamMan (the tiny one). It's worth it for the SD card slot and option to plug it into your computer (thus saving everything) alone.

Or, if you have recording software on your computer (something simple, like Garage Band), create a loop the old fashioned way; by playing it over and over and over, while recording it.

Also, buy used. I got an RC-20 (RC-2's big brother) off craigslist for $140. I'm sure an RC-2 could be had for even less.

I've played the Boss RC-2, Digitech jamman and the Digitech jamman solo alot over the last three months trying to decide. I finally decided on the jamman solo for it's price ($150 new on ebay), it's versitility and it's size. It's a quality product GC was nice enough to let me try before I bought it from ebay...hehehehe.... Hey, it was cheaper and GC wouldn't price match...

But +1 for shopping used. If you can find them, their cheaper and usually still in good shape. Try classifieds here on TB.

If you can answer the following questions it will narrow down your search quite a bit as there are a few options for one of these pedals:

- Does it need to be small i.e. fit on a pedalboard?
- Do you think you will mess up a lot? (i.e. do you think you will need an "undo" button)
- Do you need to be able to store the loops you create?
- Do you need to start and stop different loops at different times?
- Do you already have a delay pedal? ( I say this only becuase the Akai Headrush, line 6 DL-4 and the EHX Stereo Memory man with hazari ALL can act as simple loopers).
