Looping, Delay, whats the difference

A looper replays what you record onto it over and over again continuously until you turn it off. Delay repeats what you played until it decays on it's own, depending on your settings. Others will probably give you more info on this one.

Thats pretty spot on. I'll add this to it though.

Loopers have the ability to record up to a certain amount of time, and you control where they stop and go at.
Delays just start and decay according to the knob settings.

Does that make sense?

Yeah, that's more or less it. Most delays are under 1 second, the repeats decay and the signal is continuously recorded. A looper can be quite long, several seconds or even minutes, and the repeats do not decay. Usually a phrase is recorded and played back continuously. More layers can be added and subtracted.
