Great job Selena! A positive attitude with a healthy dose of consistency and determination will get you there.
Personally, I've been slowly losing weight. A few months ago I was my highest at 221LBS (I am 6'1) and now I am 212. My goal is 190 and eventually 180LB.
This is what I am doing:
Don't eat anything after 6:30 except drink water. Just before bed I have a handful of almonds. I find that helps me sleep.
- I went to a Chinese market and bought a very small bowl (more like a small cup) and another bowl that might hold 1.5 cups of food.
-For breakfast I eat only museli in the very small bowl with a little soy milk (I'm vegan).
-At recess (I'm a teacher) I eat one piece of fruit (pear, apple, grapefruit etc) and a large red pepper (I love them!).
- At lunch I have a bowl of lentil soup or beans/tomato sauce with one slice of whole wheat/dark bread OR leftovers from the previous night (no more than one 1.5 cups)
-For dinner I use the 1.5 cups sized bowl and have a mixture of either veg/rice/soy protein product or veg/noodle/soy protein product. Sometimes I might have a veggie wrap or falafel or something like that.
- I avoid junk food at all costs.
- every once in awhile (like maybe 2 hrs or so) I'll have a handful of nuts or seeds.
I am very glad my wife's cake decorating course is over! If its in the house I have a hard time resisting, but the more I resist the stronger my will power gets.
Thats pretty much it. I really dont like to exercise, but I usually do play soccer with the kids at lunch (25mins) and we have 'running club' at the school where the whole school does laps around the grass field for about 30 minutes twice per week. Next fall I am going to have my bicycle ready and hopefully will ride to work 3 or 4 times per week.
