Love for Ross Valory (Journey) underrated

Funny - I never think of bass when I hear Journey. Which probably proves that

a) Valory is underrated
b) they got popular and were thrown into the 'corporate rock' category

I think that's fine though. Let him be 'hidden'. I think that adds to his mystique in a way.

Considering the guy was surrounded by pop/rock/jazz greatness, and that he held his own, did his job, and created clever, interesting, appropriate bass lines, you almost have to appreciate him as a bass player.

I love it when my classic rock band does Journey. Love playing those lines and singing a harmony part.

great player, great guy! My favorite is early Journey, but I never begrudge anybody making a little cash by hiring a front-man.;) Ross sat three feet from my rig at a recent gig, I was a very nervous bassist.:D
