Maybe you can store your current cab at your rehearsal space so you don't have to do any hauling? Then I suggest getting a fE 12/6 for your gigs and later add 1x12 to complete your mini-stack. OR depending on the room, a 15/6 (about 50lbs) and getting a 1x15 later.

Alright i have $400 to spend, and i still haven't gotten a second cab. I have the above mentioned rig, and i when i practice in band situation-still not playing live yet, i am missing something, what i don't know. i know the group of people i play with have volume issues, but i have to turn my self up to about 2 o'clock on the master to be heard. Input volume I have to keep around 1 o'clock due to it clipping and i am only playing a passive p-bass. I feel like i am really making that 350 watt Trace head work, so i can hear myself.
So i think, i should still get another 8 ohm cab, but have no idea on what to get still. should i see what black friday has to offer on GC and MF deals, have a LDS cab built, or pick something up on the used market? Theres a Mesa powerhouse 210 on CL here for 350, and i think i can talk him down some. Or try to find a Trace 115 used some where? maybe trade in the head and get something else? i still a noob at all this and still trying to figure out what works best.

Talk to Don about the feasibility of swapping out the 15 you have now for a regular Kappalite 3015, (if he thinks it's more efficient than what you have now) and if it's not loud enough either, have him build you another one with a 3015 to go with it. I say "regular" since 175 watts into each one probably wouldn't really be an optimum amount of oompf for the 3015LF drivers, sexy as they are.... That's what I would do, anyway.
