Low Tension strings

One of my bass truss rods is maxed out but not bad, I think a low tension set would be perfect. I was looking at rotosound
Rotosound RS66LA Swing Bass 66 Stainless Steel Bass Guitar Strings (30 50 65 85)
But
I don't want them to play like Rubber Bands like TI Jazz strings do.

Roto SB66 30-50-65-85 = 103.99 lbs. in total tension. That's VERY light.

SB66 30-50-70-90 = 107.39 lbs.
SB66 35-55-70-90 = 117.40 lbs.

How light is too light?

You might like funkmasters. They were light especially compared to the medium gauge i usually play but they sounded good. As far as tension goes i think dr in light gauges would be less. I know you don't want to be too floppy though. Fat beams might work better than high beams. Maybe downtuning with medium gauge would work too.

I think something lighter than 40-95 will sound like farting all the time

I went with ROTOSOUND Swing Bass 35-55-70-90 and the neck is set perfect and it sounds great. In fact I kinda like the lighter strings. More easy on the hand.

If you want to zero in on exactly how much( little, actually) the tension has to be but no further, you could
- tell us what make and model of strings are on the bass currently, then
- detune them until the neck curvature is to your liking. Based on tuning at that point, we could make recommendation as to gauge for standard tuning..
