Are there no low watt all tube heads/combos left out there suitable for bass? Is the ampeg b15 the only amp under 100 watts on earth? What rigs are you all recording with? I currently have an svt-vr and a db751 but really nothing that will record without doing structural damage to something. Any thoughts? I've never been all that satisfied with just diing but honestly I'm at a loss for other solutions.

Got a suggestion? Let's hear it.

I play bass in a local coffee house once a week. Usually there are two guitarists (one electric and one electrified acoustic) plus a drummer and me. For that gig -- small venue, usually only a couple of dozen people in the audience -- I use a Blackheart Little Giant BH5H head with a Trace Elliot Boxer 65 that has been "converted" into a 1x12 cabinet. The amp portion of the Boxer quit working and my amp tech gave up on it, so I removed the chassis and wired the 1/4" input jack directly to the speaker.

I run the Blackheart in pentode / 5 watt mode and crank all four controls to full, then use the controls on my bass for level and tone. The sound is delicious and inspiring, and amazingly loud in the room. My son found the Blackheart at a Goodwill store for $40.00 and gave it to me for my last birthday (after I begged a bit...)
